Oakhurst Scarecrows

3rd Annual Oakhurst Scarecrow Fest & Contest - FALL 2017!

"What is all this business about scarecrows?"

I am a HUGE fan of October, Halloween, Fall and really anything having to do with decorating/blinging things up/and raving a place out. This lead to wanting to do something fun with my fellow employees, business owners and community and, if you will, a throw down of sorts.

So, Oakhurstians, we at Branches Books invite you to participate in the Scarecrow Festival! This is open to all businesses, schools, establishments and anyone who wants to be a little festive this season.

The "CONTEST" is mainly for "bragging rights" and to show this town our beautiful, fun, awesome shops! There will be four awards:

  • Best of Show (Winner will receive Best of Show Winner Trophy (perpetual) & $100 of Branches Books gift cards)**This is a perpetual award and Oakhurst Physical Therapy DOES NOT want to share! Give them a run for their money! :)
  • High marks for use of materials, space, creativity, team work, name, labeling and overall awesomeness.
  • Most Creative (Winner will receive Most Creative Scarecrow Winner prize - a $50 Branches Books gift card) You really thought this one out and knocked it out of the park. Very imaginative and fun!
  • Most Inventive Use of Materials (Winner will receive Most Inventive Use of Materials Winner - a $50 Branches Books gift card)
  • What did you use to create your "scarecrow?" Hay? PVC? Bubbles?? If we stop dead in our tracks and say "WOW!" then you're on the right track.
  • Best Theme Display (Winner will receive Best Theme Display Winner - a $50 Branches Books gift card) Do you love a theme like we do? Show us! We are partial to books...

Please email Anne Driscoll at anne@branchesbooks.com with any questions!  Please use the hashtag #oakhurstscarecrows

This event is not affiliated with any entity, just a way to bring together our community. All are welcome to participate. Winners will be notified Friday, November 10th, 2017.
